5 Best Things Modi Government Has Done For The Development Of India:

When Modi stormed into power in 2014 by winning Lok Sabha election with massive mandate, he delivered a strong message: “We are not here for any positions but for a responsibility”. From bureaucrats to MPs, everyone started falling in line. Be it strengthening foreign policy or launching welfare schemes for low-income group, team Modi has been working hard to fulfil people’s expectations.
Modi-led government is clocking over a year at the wheel. Here are Five major things Modi government has achieved since coming to power:

  1.    Make In India:

Make in India is an initiative launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2014 to deal with the issue of stagnating Indian economy and boosting the economic growth of the country, when his NDA government took over the reigns of the Indian Parliament. It aimed at making India an attractive destination for the foreign investors from all over the world and building a credible business atmosphere with ease of doing business by removing various trade barriers in foreign policies. The foreign investors were encouraged to utilize India’s untapped manufacturing potential through Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) and make the country a credible manufacturing ground worldwide. The advantages underlying this propaganda led many companies from all over the world to make huge investments under this initiative, making India a hub for the manufacturing companies.

Benefits:

  • Make in India initiative helps in creating jobs for ever-increasing population of India.
  • Conversion of India into a manufacturing hub of various commercial products.
  • Development of the areas and the neighboring locations where the industries would be set up.
  • The program will boost the GDP of the Indian economy as foreign investments will
lead to   humongous flow of income.
  • The FDI under this initiative would strengthen the rupee against the domination of the
American  dollar.
  • As countries from all over the world will bring along latest technology, India will
have an     opportunity to make use of it as it lacks in various test mechanization.
  • Setting up of industries under this initiative will help in the development of rural areas.

  2.     Swachh Bharat Abhiyan (Clean India Campaign):

On September 12, this year, Prime Minister, Narendra Modi announced the launch of “Swachhta hi seva” campaign, commemorating the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. It is a part of the Swachh Bharat campaign and will go on for two weeks (September 15-October 2), concluding on Gandhi’s birth anniversary, as well as the fourth-year anniversary of Swachh Bharat.
Swachh Bharat Abhiyan (mission), was one of the first initiatives to be launched by the Modi government when it came to power in 2014. It is a nationwide campaign with the aim to clean up Indian streets, roads, and the general infrastructure, i.e. an all-inclusive cleanliness mission. It has managed to gain considerable popularity and support over the years, so much so that, it is now known as India’s largest ever cleanliness drive.
The “Swachhta hi seva” campaign was introduced as part of the Swachh Bharat, both to commemorate its anniversary, and also to encourage more people to participate in the movement. However, back in 2017, the President of IndiaRam Nath Govind, launched a jan aandolan with the same name. It also mobilised people between September 15th – October, 2nd (of 2017), urging them to participate in the cleanliness drive.
The Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, and consequently, Swacchta hi Seva are both key movements by the government of India to succeed in its “clean India” aim. With the Prime Minister, along with several other well-known names taking it to the streets with brooms, the campaign has managed to gain the fancy of plenty of countrymen.

  3.      Digital India:

Digital India is a campaign launched by the Government of India to ensure the Government's services are made available to citizens electronically by improved online infrastructure and by increasing Internet connectivity or by making the country digitally empowered in the field of technology. The initiative includes plans to connect rural areas with high-speed internet networks. Digital India consists of three core components: the development of secure and stable digital infrastructure, delivering government services digitally, and universal digital literacy.
Launched on 1 July 2015 by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, it is both enabler and beneficiary of other key Government of India schemes, such as BharatNet, Make in India, Startup India and Standup India, industrial corridors, Bharatmala, Sagarmala, dedicated freight corridors, UDAN-RCS and E-Kranti.
As of 31 December 2018, India had a population of 130 crore people (1.3 billion), 123 crore (1.23 billion) Aadhaar digital biometric identity cards, 121 crore (1.21 billion) mobile phones, 44.6 crore (446 million) smartphones, 56 crore (560 million) internet users up from 481 million people (35% of the country's total population) in December 2017, and 51 per cent growth in e-commerce.

  4.    Demonetisation:

Demonetisation which was introduced to eradicate poverty and black money was a great success producing huge political dividend to BJP, by projecting Modi as pro poor, just as Garibi Hatao, made Indira pro poor. After the introduction of the same, BJP won all the local body elections in various states and assembly elections in all crucial states of Assam, UP and Uttarakhand. Contrary to the predictions of leading economists both within India and Internationally, that GDP growth will show a dip of at least 2%, India posted 7.4% growth in 2017, which is highest for any major economy. When the entire opposition was ranged against the government calling for total withdrawal, Modi stood his ground. The march to Rajbhawan by Mamata and Kejriwal, did not deter Modi in any way. The decision of Modi to stick to the government move, demonstrated that this government cannot be cowed down and once can decision is taken at any cost it will not waiver from it.

  5.    Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana:

On 11th October 2014, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the “Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana” for clean and developed villages of rural India. This is a prestigious village development project, which focuses on the all-round development of villages, including economic, social and cultural growth and development. The PM aims to cover 2,500 villages by 2019. One of the striking and unique features of this programme, as the name suggests, is that here each Member of Parliament (MP ) will take up the responsibility of providing infrastructure and developing three villages by 2019. There are almost 800 MPs and if each of them adopts three villages, then nearly 2,500 villages can be covered by 2019. In the same manner, the State Governments should also create schemes and more and more villages can be covered under this.

Main Objective of Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana:

The scheme is based on the concept of rural development of Mahatma Gandhi which revolved around creating model villages for transforming swaraj (self rule) into su-raj (good governance). The objective is to create a holistic development of all adopted villages by the MPs in all aspects —human, personal, social, economic and environmental development, including provision of basic amenities, services, security and good governance.
